LEARNING TO DRAW
Drawing Figures – Capturing the Human Figure
STANDING PEOPLE | RECLINED POSES | PEOPLE IN ACTION
Join us in learning to convey the human figure. Perfect for all levels, this series is a comprehensive guide to figure drawing. You’ll start with your subjects standing, moving into reclined positions and finally your last session will teach you to capture movement in the human body. This is a fantastic and totally immersive opportunity to begin or progress in figurative drawing.
MONDAY 6TH SEPTEMBER – 6:30PM (GMT)
STANDING PEOPLE – SIMPLE SHAPES & NEGATIVE SPACE
In this session you’ll learn to draw the human figure in a standing position. From drawing people walking on the beach to a surfer standing with their board, your teacher will support you in creating simple shapes and the use of negative space.
MONDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER – 6:30PM (GMT)
RECLINED POSES – ANGLES & COMPOSITION
In this session you’ll be learning to capture the human body in more unusual positions. From your subject relaxing in a hammock, through to leaning against a wall, you’ll look at the human body from different angles and learn to compose each drawing in a simple and straight forward way.
MONDAY 20TH SEPTEMBER – 6:30PM (GMT)
PEOPLE IN ACTION – DYNAMISM & POSITIONING
This class will teach you how to position the human body to convey big bursts of movement. You’ll draw figures in motion and capture all the tension and energy in a dancer’s body.
You will need:
