Have you ever wanted to learn to draw? Maybe you put your pencil and paper down years ago. Maybe you’ve never so much as doodled. Whatever your experience of drawing, we want to invite you to take part in a series of upbeat drawing classes, designed for beginners as well as seasoned sketchers.
Join us for an hour of creativity once a week to put pencil to paper in a supportive environment.
Monday 29th March – 1pm & 6:30pm
Drawing Cacti & Succulents – Shadow, Shapes & Pattern – Download the reference images
In this session you’ll be drawing a beautiful range of cacti and succulents. Your teacher Jan will show you how to portray shadows and how to express patterns found in these botanical beauties.
Monday 5th April – 6:30pm only
Drawing Trees – Learning to Shade –Download the reference images
This class will teach you to master shading. You’ll be focussing on tree trunks and exploring the different textures of roots and bark.
Monday 12th April – 1pm & 6:30pm
Drawing Seeds & Pods – Texture & Shading – Download the reference images
In this session you will explore the various shapes and textures of seed pods. You’ll explore composition as well shading to capture the beauty of these fascinating husks.
You will need:
- Pencil – preferably 2B or softer (i.e., 3,4,5,6,7, or 8B). The darker the line the better!
